with emotion and maturity. Integrated leaders are more
effective because they can draw on a full range of balanced
competencies: intellectual, behavioural, social and
emotional. Topics include: the concept of `emotional
intelligence'; common emotional triggers in the workplace;
the eight emotional characteristics that are essential for
integrated leadership, including how to recognise and deal
with the `shadow' part of the psyche; and the READE
technique, a simple way to manage your emotional reactions.
Dr Andy Hede has held senior management positions in the
Australian Commonwealth and State public services. He is a
registered psychologist who works extensively with the
private sector and runs executive development workshops in
Australia, the United States, Singapore and New Zealand. He
is currently Professor of Management at the University of
the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, Australia.
