Arthur's tremendous career has led to his becoming the most familiar face on the royal circuit and the respect he shows his subjects means that his is a popular figure with royals themselves. Indeed, Princess Diana referred to him as 'our Arthur' and Prince Charles introduces him to world leaders when they are on royal tours. He has been on hand to capture the blossoming romance and subsequent wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton; he was there to witness happy and loving moments at the start of Charles and Diana's marriage; he saw Prince William's first steps and was there for Prince Harry's first day at Eton. As well as having taken magical and momentous pictures, Arthur has some fascinating stories to go with them. Take, for example, a time in Klosters, when Patti Palmer-Tomkinson announced to the assembled press that her 'Uncle Harry' would be joining her party - and out stepped Prince Charles wearing false glasses, nose and moustache. In Toxeth, Liverpool, a young lad rode up to Princess Diana and asked fot a kiss - and she obliged. It was also Arthur who pointed out to Prince Charles during a polo match that his flies were down - having checked with Arther that nothing was showing, the Prince then carried on playing! This wonderful book is packed with the very best of Arthur's delightful colour pictures and unique stories from someone who has been present as history and headlines have been made. Within these pages is a valuable record of three decades during which the face of Britain's monarchy changed beyond recognition.

Arthur Edwards

Arthur Edwards, MBE is a British photographer working for the Sun newspaper, who specialises in pictures of the British Royal Family, covering over 200 royal tours in over 120 countries, seven royal weddings, four funerals and seven births. Born in 1940 in London, he joined the Sun in 1977 and has been with them ever since.

He appeared as a castaway on Desert Island Discs in 2011 and was made an MBE for 'outstanding service to newspapers'. Not bad for an East End lad who left school at 15.
