  • If only we'd had this years ago!

    19/11/2010

Like many schools, we've been using "GoMaths" for a few years, but been disappointed by the fact that it never really did what the sales reps said it did.

Finally we stumbled across these resources at a brilliant PD session by Tierney Kennedy. It's a small company, run by a really gifted teacher (don't you hate it when the theorists write resources that just don't work in real classrooms?), so I guess not very many people have heard of them.

The resources teach maths in a much more effective way. They cover every part of the curriculum, with heaps of time left over so I can catch the class up on weak areas.

One of the things I've loved the most is that the series is incredibly flexible, and allows me to teach my whole class from remedial to advanced students simultaneously (the lessons are integrated across levels). The kids love it, and even the slower ones are coming along in leaps and bounds. It is so good to see that happening! Other teachers at my school have had just as much success.

I can't recomend this series enough. If Kennedy Press had a fan club, I reckon I'd join!
