Badgers in my Vest: Unfit to fight in World War II, Dylan Thomas spends his time in Newquay in the local pub, cadging drinks and being outrageous. Privately, he is terrified, suffering nightmares, and in the grip of writer's block. One night, a soldier comes in. Having found poetry a solace in the face of human brutality, he hopes to exchange views on beauty and truth with Thomas. Instead he is goaded to semi-hysteria and goes for his gun..
