Review of "First Flight"
Written and illustrated by David Miller. Publisher: Working Title Press

Age Range: Early Childhood 3 +

Themes: birds, animals, family, friendship.

A wonderful story about a little glider, Joey, who was woken by the sound of animals, in particular the cockatoos who screeched. They gave him such a fright that made him fall, and without thinking he spread out his feet out and glided for the first time. Joey went on an adventure and discovered the different animals in his environment. Later that night his parents moved about the forest looking for him. They soon found him and Joey didn't ride his mothers back as before, because he flew!

This book is beautifully illustrated in watercolours and water coloured pencils
