The first phenomenal adventure in a heartstopping new series - now in paperback.

They'll chase you. They'll rip you open. They'll feed on you . . .
When the sickness came, every parent, police officer, politician - every adult - fell ill. The lucky ones died. The others are crazed, confused and hungry.
Only children under fourteen remain, and they're fighting to survive.
Now there are rumours of a safe place to hide. And so a gang of children begin their quest across London, where all through the city - down alleyways, in deserted houses, underground - the grown-ups lie in wait.
But can they make it there - alive?

These days Zombies are quickly becoming the latest trend, with a rise in TV Shows, movies and books focusing on the walking corpses it's getting harder and harder for writer's to throw a new twist on the genre. Yet author Charlie Higson throws us into a world that is not only completely original, but expertly written, resulting in one of the best zombie novels yet.

When the zombie outbreak begins it infects every person over 14 years of age, with all adults either dead or mindless zombies the children of London are left to defend for themselves and survive their horrible new world. With a blistering pace, non-stop action and realistic characters 'The Enemy' follows a gang of kids trying to make their way to the centre of the city and to sanctuary.

As the first book in the series Higson does well to establish his characters and the children's reactions to different situations throughout the book only adds to the realism that he is creating. With each novel fleshing out the world even more, 'The Enemy' is not only a great introduction to the series, but an action-packed roller coaster ride that is a must read for any fan of the walking dead or action-horror. This is a captivating novel that will dig it's claws in deep and not let go until the final page.
