Nobody Owens, known to his friends as Bod, is a normal boy. He would be completely normal if he didn't live in a graveyard, raised and educated by ghosts. There, living among the dead, Bod discovers that he possesses remarkable magical powers: he can avoid people's notice, scare them, and even invade their dreams.

There are dangers and adventures for Bod in the graveyard. But it is in the land of the living that the real danger lurks, for it is there that the man Jack lives - and he has sinister plans for Bod...

A magical tale of darkness and light in the strangest places. At times cryptic, the baby taken in as Nobody grows into a compassionate, insightful lad who leads us on a journey of worlds within worlds.
His is a cemetery to be celebrated!
My favourite book to read over, and over again.
Highly recommend for those who are ready to embark on a fantasy ride into some dark, and dim places. So much joy! I would absolutely indulge my 11 year-old to read.

In the Graveyard Book Neil Gaiman draws us into a tale soaked in mystery and adventure when he introduces Bod and his odd circumstances.

Neil takes a ludicrous idea and molds it into a heartwarming tale filled to the brim with the dank dark bump in the night creatures of legend, his tale spinning turning the scary into something beautiful and sublime.

While it is purported to be a children's story I would wait until mine are well into their teenage years before I allow them to read it.
