This book is an easy, funny, warm and kooky read. The adventures contained within are reminiscent of Forrest Gump but the joys of this book aren't in its clutch on reality (the protagonist is 100...this is a clue, folks) but instead the beautiful way an old man's life is rendered. It is similar to The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry but a much more readable book. If you're over 40 you'll probably connect more with this story than if you're 25. If you seek pure literature, bypass this book, but if you read for pleasure and grinning to yourself whilst lost in pages, then you'll probably enjoy this tome. Recommended.

One cardinal rule - you must have a sense of the absurd and a sense of humour. No wonder it's a run away hit - unique. One bad review I saw here reveals a great deal more about the reviewer than the book! Ignore that nonsense and treat yourself.

This book was so boring and badly written that I couldn't get past the first five chapters. A complete waste of money. I am truly surprised that's borders would recommend this book.
