"An instant classic...highly recommended!" -New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author Jennifer Probst

USA TODAY bestselling indie author Alice Clayton delights readers with the sexy, laugh-out-loud romance of Caroline and Simon in Wallbanger, the first book in the Cocktail series!

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an-um-intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed "dating hiatus," and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

In a delicious mix of silly and steamy, Alice Clayton dishes out a hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight.

What can we say? Alice’s writing is amazing! She has the perfect mix of funny, witty, sassy, romantic and adorable, yet very sexy characters. This book is fantastic, fun filled and a laugh out loud book! We can’t count the amount of times we snort-laughed throughout this book.

This was our first time reading a Alice Clayton book and we cannot wait to pick up the next book in the Cocktail Series, Rusty Nailed.

Caroline Reynolds has just moved into her new apartment with her cat Clive and she loves it. But soon comes to realize that she can hear everything that is going on in the bedroom of her neighbor's apartment. After countless nights of having to hear her neighbor entertain women, she’s had enough. Knocking on his door, scantily clad wasn't the smartest idea but when her neighbor answers his door, she is rendered speechless. After gathering herself and giving him an ear full, Caroline feels she is on her way to getting a better night's sleep.

“Now you listen here, mister,” I said, trying for a more adult tone. “I’m not going to spend every night listening to you try to crash you girl’s head through my wall with the force of your dick alone!”

Simon Parker, aka Wallbanger is sexy, smart, charming and confident. He knows how he wants to live his life and isn't afraid to do it. So when his neighbor Caroline knocks on his door in the middle of the night, he see’s something he likes. Instant attraction, she is gorgeous and the one thing he loves the most is her sassiness.

Discovering they have mutual friends, they find themselves spending more time together. What neither of them expected was their friends hooking up and spending even more time together. Being together so much has lead them to get to know one another. Being neighbors has its perks, dinners, movies and hanging out is soon becoming the routine for them. But when Simon leaves for a photography job, they both soon realize what they feel is more than just a friendship. Could Caroline find more with the one she nicknamed Wallbanger?

“He was wooing me. And I was letting him woo. I wanted the woo. I deserved the woo. I needed the wow that would surely follow the woo, but for now, the woo? It was whoa.”

Our Thoughts

Kayla- This book was so brilliantly written. Alice brings to life everything she puts to paper. I could see myself so clearly there with them in every scene. The hilarity and emotion put into every scene was perfect. I never once felt frustrated or betrayed by their characters. Several times I had tears from laughing at the one liners, this is going to be one of those books that I could go back to at any time if I needed a pick me up. An all round exceptional read that I would highly recommend to anyone.

Kristy- This book was a ray of light, so different to what I have been reading lately. An amazing book, it was a breath of fresh air, I loved the way Alice brought her character’s together. They didn’t just jump in the sack. They started a friendship, an amusing friendship at that. I love characters like Caroline, the sassiness and banter with Simon had me laughing at times.

If you want a fresh book with a good mixture of love, sex, humor and baking this book is for you!

Wallbanger is hilarious, I have never laughed out loud throughout a book as much as I have with this one certain parts of this book had me in tears and not the sad tears, rather those laughing so hard that your face hurts tears! This book grabs your attention from the first sentence and has you hooked by the end of the first chapter!

Wallbanger is about Caroline Pink Nightie Girl Reynolds, who has been missing her O for the last 6 months after bad rapid-fired sex and an ill-timed one night stand and has recently moved into a new apartment. Much to her chagrin she discovers she can hear in great detail as well as feel the thumping through the thin shared bedroom wall, the nightly escapades of her neighbours raging sex life. Caroline cannot help but notice he seems to be a very satisfying and accommodating lover, as his women can be heard reaching multiple Os throughout the night! So one night, a very sleep deprived and sexually frustrated Caroline who cannot take the thumping or the dirty talk anymore, barges next door in her cute pink nightie to meet her hot, sexy, gorgeous, well-endowed neighbor for the very first time, Simon Wallbanger Parker. Lets just say they have direct words and go their separate ways, that is until fate intervenes and has them bump into each other unexpectedly at her bosss house warming party. They decide that night to call a truce since their best friends seem to be destined for each other. This decision causes them to go from Cockblocker and Wallbanger, first to friendly neighbours, then to great friends, until ultimately falling in love.

This is the first book I have read from Alice Clayton and I really enjoyed her writing style. I loved the way she made me feel so comfortable and connected to Caroline and the way she incorporated the text messages sent between the books group of friends was brilliant and really brought the story together.

Something that really made the book stand out for me is how Alice Clayton creates such wonderful characters full of emotions and personality. Theres the girls; Caroline, Sophia and Mimmi, all young, beautiful, independent, career orientated women with fantastic personalities who share a great sense of humor. These are my type of people and the way Clayton writes them makes me feel like we could hang out with and become friends. Then there is Simon Oh my! At first you think he is a real player but once you get to know the real Simon he is actually quite a deep, sensitive, respectful and humble personI only wish this man was real!

The overall message of this book would be Dont judge a book by its cover, because you generally go for the wrong person when the right person is right in front of you! I know its an old classic.but its a good once and oh so true!

So I will definitely be recommending this book to all my girlfriends to enjoy. Not only is it a good read but a great laugh and I can guarantee once you finish reading this book, you will want to go bake some pie!
