In 2014, the world will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of World War I. Beginning on July 28, 1914 and concluding on November 11, 1918, it was one of the largest and bloodiest wars in history. Some 9 million people lost their lives during the World War but amongst the stories of death and destruction were legends of heroes, every day men and women doing extraordinary things.
