Synopsis

Wah!'s name, given to her by a yoga master, roughly translates as "bliss beyond perfection." She has steadily built a broad range of recordings that meld elements of pop and electronica perfectly suited for yoga or light exercise. The title of this release comes from a posture in yoga that is reserved for deep relaxation. SAVASANA features harmonium, tamboura, violin, flute, bass, and Wah!'s own silky vocals. SAVASANA is full of chants to Krishna, Shiva, and other sacred objects of devotion and inspiration. "Govinda Jaya Jaya" sends rippling guitar lines over Sanskrit words. The bass on "Evening Bhav" surrounds the listener in warm, soothing tones. The ascending flute patterns from "Om Namah Shivaya" mimic kundalini energy climbing the spine. SAVASANA puts the listener at ease, allowing for a relaxed state of consciousness.
