From writer Terence Winter and director Martin Scorsese, Boardwalk Empire chronicles the life and times of Enoch 'Nucky' Thompson (Steve Buscemi). As Atlantic City's czar, Nucky rules at a time when Prohibition proved to be a major catalyst in the rise of organised crime in America. Equal parts politician and gangster, Nucky and his lieutenants keep an eye on the bootleggers and distributors who enjoy the highly lucrative opportunities of illegal alcohol. Season 2 involves Nucky's arrest by federal agents for election fraud and an uprising amongst his inner circle. As enemies start to close in, Nucky must hold onto his alliances or risk losing his piece of the pie. Season 3 starts off with the Roaring '20s and although the economy is booming, alcohol is scarce and the competition is fierce. With gangster violence heating up Nucky must fend off his nemesis Gyp Rosetti and proves his resolve in several heated encounters. The fight for power continues in Season 4 with Nucky's new rival Dr Valentin Narcisse and several lucrative, yet perilous opportunities in Florida.
